Sunflowers (in deep 6-packs)
Each of these pollenless Sunflowers is simply incredible!
Like the Marigolds, I grew them as part of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers seed trials a few years ago, and they’re like no Sunflowers I’ve ever seen — and florists love them!
Since they’re “pollenless” they will not drop a bunch of yellow pollen on your table and pollenless flowers also last longer. There’s still some pollen in the blooms though, and the pollinators (and gold finches) flock to them!
To EXTEND bloom time, plant these varieties at the same time: Sunrich Gold F1, ProCut Gold Lite DMR and ProCut White Lite F1! Sunrich blooms first, followed by the ProCut series.
TO GROW
Except for the two branching varieties, the others are all single stemmed, so once they’re finished blooming pull up the stalk and plant more seeds in the same spot to keep flowers coming until frost. For the branching varieties, pinch out the top 6” of the growing stems when the plant it 18-24” tall, so it will branching even more, giving you even more flowers!
Space plants 4-6” in full sun. Days to maturity: 60-65, ht: 4-6’
